At K9 Fitness Centre,
we KNOW that exercise and fitness
is at the centre
of a healthy, happy and balanced dog.
WHAT IS THE K9 FITNESS CENTRE ?
K9 Fitness Centre is a state-of-the-art, purpose built centre designed for dogs to come and run and burn off steam, in a climate controlled environment. Equipped with three slat-mills (non-motorised, dog-powered treadmills) dogs can easily reach their full potential and speed, and owners have the comfort of knowing their dog is safe, able to run, and not encounter other dogs.
Dogs can walk on average 12km/hour,
but us humans, only 5.
Average 10 minute slat-mill session = 5km
...which would take us about 45 minutes.
Not to mention, a 5km run expends far more energy than a 5km walk.
It is an intentful, time smart way of exercising your dog, giving them the opportunity to burn off some energy, whether it be fast, or slow, dogs of all breeds and energies enjoy the mills, it is also a great bonding experience for you and your dog, confidence booster for nervous dogs, for them to overcome a new task and feel great afterwards.
Exercising your dog will help with:
Reducing Stress
Reducing Anxiety
Reducing Boredom
Increasing Focus
Concentrated Exercise
Boosting Confidence
Improving Stamina
Weight Management

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Read before booking
-
While at K9 Gym, your dog must be under your strict control and supervision at all times. K9 Fitness Centre is not a place for dog socialising or interactions. We do not allow interactions between the dogs, as all animals can sometimes be unpredictable and our top priority is ensuring the Fitness Centre is a safe space for everyone. Any owners not taking proper responsibility for their dog, or allowing or encouraging interactions with other dogs using the Fitness Centre, will have their membership revoked. (If you are interested in a fun, stimulating play group for your dog, check out the K9 Day Care Centre!)
-
Your dog must be in reasonably good health and have no recent physical injuries to use K9 Fitness Centre. If your fitness goals include weight loss or rehabilitation, it is your responsibility to inform K9 Staff at your Introductory session and to consult with your vet or physiotherapist to make sure mill work is suitable for your dog.
-
While every measure will be taken to ensure the health and safety of you and your dog, K9 Fitness Centre accepts no responsibility or liability for any injuries caused due to, or incurred while using, any K9 equipment or while inside K9 Fitness Centre.
Finally, please come to your session with an open mind! Some dogs immediately understand and enjoy using the slat mill, while others will need some more time and encouragement. It is a very novel experience for most dogs, and we need to be patient with the process. Learning and overcoming challenges is good for our dogs, and the rewards for both them and you will be huge!
